National Council on Social Welfare of Thailnad (NCSWT) is a non - profit organization, founded in 1960 to serve as the coordinating center on social welfare and social development among government and private organizations.

On August 10th, 1961 the NCSWT was graciously granted Royal Patronage by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej. Her Majesty Queen Sirikit had graciously accepted the Honorary Presidency . NCSWT considers the 10th of August every year as an auspicious day to pay a tribute to Their Majesties' philanthropy and benevolence.

His Majesty the King donated funds for the construction of "Mahidol Building" dedicated to his father, Prince Mahidol of Songkhla. Their Majesties laid the foundation stone on July 31st, 1963 and the opening ceremony was performed on March 5th, 1965.
